Preface: Since slag-handling machines are frequently used in mining operations, it is crucial to conduct thorough pre-operation inspections to ensure their smooth performance in daily work. Today, our staff will show you how to carry out routine maintenance and inspections on slag-handling machines.
1. Inspect the machine’s electrical system: Check whether the cables, sockets, and plugs are free from any damage. Verify that the circuit breakers, AC contactors, and connecting wires are intact, with no signs of burning or looseness. After turning on the main power switch, the power indicator light on the slag-removal machine should illuminate. If the machine is equipped with an electric drum, verify that the drum can rotate both forward and backward. Also, confirm that you can hear the main motor running smoothly.
II. Inspect the hydraulic system of the entire machine: Check the operating valves of the hydraulic system and all oil pipe connections, especially those on the boom and arm, as well as each hydraulic cylinder, for any signs of leakage. If any leaks are detected, they should be promptly replaced or repaired. At the same time, grease the entire machine. Also, verify that the hydraulic oil level in the excavator is within the normal range. Typically, the oil level should be around half or approximately four-fifths of the total capacity of the oil tank.
3. Inspect the aircraft’s control system: Check the hydraulic control valves to ensure that they move smoothly in all directions—left, right, up, and down—and return to their original positions properly without any sticking or jamming. If any issues are detected, replace the affected components immediately.
4. Inspect the machine’s entire conveying system: Ensure that the scraper conveyor’s belt is properly tensioned, and that the rollers, wheels, chains, and other components rotate smoothly without any abnormalities. Also verify that the scraper conveyor belt shows no signs of wear or misalignment.
5. Inspect the overall appearance of the machine: We need to check the excavator’s exterior, ensuring that all connecting bolts are securely tightened and that there is no loose welding at any welded joints. Also, inspect the tires, clutch, transmission, diesel engine, chassis, and other components for any signs of damage or cracks. If any issues are found, they should be replaced promptly.
